Add a New Shift Template
Step 1: Access the Shift Template Page
Navigate to Schedule > Shift Template > Click the 'New' button to initiate a new shift template. Additionally, Workstem provides a Sample Shift Template for clients, accessible upon reaching the shift template page.
Step 2: Create Shift Template
During the creation of the Shift Template, complete the necessary details as follows:
Name: Name the shift template.
Start Time: Specify the commencement time of the shift template.
End Time: Indicate the conclusion time of the shift template.
Type: Choose the category of the shift template: Working day, Rest day, or Legal holiday.
Location: Select from a dropdown menu displaying all previously established locations.
Click the 'Advanced Settings' button to refine the shift template.
Deduct Meal Break (Minutes): When calculating the total working hours, the system will automatically deduct the lunch break minutes specified here.
Set Meal Time: Enabling this feature allows the client to specify the start and end times for meal breaks.
Once adjustments are made, click 'Confirm' to save the shift template.

Streamlining Scheduling with Shift Templates
After completing the creation of the shift template, you can utilise it to streamline the employee scheduling process.
Method 1:
Navigate to Schedule > Schedule > Select the desired date and click the 'New' button.
On the new shift creation page, choose the shift template. The work location, start time, end time, and shift type will be automatically filled in by the system based on the settings of the shift template.
Project: A dropdown list will appear containing the projects created in the system.
Remarks: Add any necessary notes.
Click the 'Save' button to save the shift.
Method 2:
Navigate to the Schedule > Schedule Pro > click the ‘Schedule’ button and select the date to insert a shift template for scheduling.
After inserting the shift template, click 'Save' to store the scheduling changes.

How to Edit and Delete the Shift
Method 1:
Navigate to Schedule > Schedule
Select the date and employee for which you wish to edit or delete the shift.
Method 2:
Navigate to the Schedule > Schedule Pro
Select the date and employee for which you wish to edit or delete the shift.
Assign Multiple Shifts for an Employee on the Same Day
Navigate to Schedule > Schedule
Select the date and click the 'New' button to add a new shift.
After selecting the shift template and filling in the necessary information, click 'Save' to save the shift.
Click the '+' button to add another shift.
Click 'Save' to save the shift.
Note:
If the shifts overlap, a red mark will appear at the bottom right corner of the overlapping shifts.
